  • For dough: 300g flour, 1 egg, 150ml warm water, 1 tsp salt
  • For filling: 500g potatoes boiled and mashed, 150g farmer's cheese or cream cheese, 1 onion caramelized
  • For serving: 4 tbsp butter, 2 onions sliced, sour cream, fresh chives

Instructions

    Make dough: mix flour, egg, water, and salt until smooth. Rest 30 minutes covered.

    Mix mashed potatoes with cheese and caramelized onion. Season well.

    Roll dough thin. Cut circles with a glass. Place filling in center, fold and pinch edges firmly.

    Boil pierogi in salted water until they float plus 2 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon.

    Pan-fry in butter until golden on both sides, about 3 minutes per side.

    Serve topped with caramelized onions, sour cream, and fresh chives.
